Our first workshop of the year focuses on wheel thrown and altered pieces - and we hope you’ll join us! Participants should be able to throw two pounds of clay into a closed form.
Join us as we explore techniques used in creating three-dimensional animal forms. This two-day workshop, led by ceramics artist Angel Allen, will help you unlock the potential of the wheel by using standard functional ware practices to create sculptural forms. Throwing, altering, applique, incising, carving and sgraffito will be among the techniques used to create a set of figures. Check out the flyer here.
Registration is now open to the general public. The two-day workshop will take place at the Columbia Art Center, on Friday March 27th from 9am - 4pm and on Saturday March 28th from 10am - 4pm. Registration is limited - and will close once full or on March 26th.
